Sarah Hess

Sarah Hess

Sarah Hess is a Rhode Island based artist and art educator and self proclaimed “multi-crafter” with a passion for several different craft mediums, including jewelry design, block printing, handmade paper, ceramic pottery, and botanical illustration. But no matter the medium Sarah draws inspiration from the forms, color and textures found in the natural world.

Sarah holds a MA in art education and undergraduate degrees in Art Education and Studio Ceramics. You can find Sarah’s work on display at Rhode Island artist co-op galleries, Made in Warren and The Hotpoint Emporium. Sarah has exhibited her works at juried shows including Art Providence, The Providence Artisan Markets and the Barrington Arts Festival. In addition to her multi-crafting, Sarah works as an Elementary Art teacher and Adjunct Faculty for the art education department at Rhode Island College, she also enjoys teaching summer classes for the RISD Young Artists Program.

Sarah lives in the East Bay of RI and is happiest when creating and spending time exploring the natural world with her husband and their young daughter.
